Buy headphones in Maastricht

Audiofrenzy has hi-fi headphones from Grado, Audeze, Sennheiser, Focal, Meze and HiFiMAN, among others: from in-ear models to on-ear and over-ear headphones for home use. If you would like to listen to one, you can do so in our shop on the Hoenderstraat in Maastricht.

Open or closed, dynamic or planar

An open headphone generally sounds more spacious, but lets sound out and in; a closed model shuts you off better from your surroundings. Audeze and HiFiMAN are known for their planar magnetic drivers, which can need more power than a dynamic driver. In-ear models sit in the ear and are more compact than on-ear and over-ear headphones.

The right amplification

Look at the headphone’s impedance and sensitivity. A headphone with a high impedance or a low sensitivity needs more power than a phone or laptop can deliver. A separate headphone amplifier is then the solution, and many amplifiers and streamers also have a headphone output. See our headphone amplifiers or ask for advice.

Comfort and maintenance

Wearing comfort decides how long you can listen pleasantly: weight, clamping force and ear pads all play a part. Ear pads can often be replaced, and in headphone accessories you will also find cables, cases and stands.
