In a world of fast technology, we bet on proven fundamentals. Our new 50 mm dynamic driver, assembled and tuned with ultimate precision, allowed us to push the limits of speed, accuracy and dynamic range.

To achieve the acoustic goals we set for the 109 PRO, we focused our R&D efforts on materials research for every part of the driver.

The quest to maximise the headphones' sonic capabilities began with the diaphragm, where we concentrated on finding the perfect balance between mass and stiffness.

Our research led to the development of the 109 series Dual-Composite Diaphragm – a combination of beryllium-coated polymer and cellulose-carbon fibre composite.

The stabilisation ring made of a copper-zinc alloy improves the absorption of vibrations, with the choice of material contributing to a significant reduction in distortion.

Next to the two sit the light and efficient neodymium magnet and copper coil. Together they are encapsulated in a high-precision CNC-milled aluminium frame that has proven exceptionally reliable.

With the open design, we wanted the 109 PRO to be lively and exciting, allowing the listener to connect with music on a deeper level.

Carefully tuned by our own engineering team, it offers an emotionally engaging sound with plenty of detail, clarity and just the right amount of punch. Its organic character, combined with superior dynamics, excellent imaging and full vocals, brings moving details to life. In addition, it is easy to drive from most devices, whether portable sources or elaborate home setups.

The spider-shaped structure and the acoustically transparent grille in the ear cup reveal the driver on both sides, creating our most open pattern to date.

Following the principles of anthropometry, we placed the driver at a precise angle and at a precise distance from the ear to achieve the ideal anatomical fit.

Velour pads surround the ears comfortably and provide an optimal seal to create natural sound. Because velour is much softer and more breathable than leather, it also prevents sweating and overheating during long listening sessions.

The self-adjusting headband distributes the weight and applies even pressure for every head shape and size.

With the 109 PRO, everything revolves around comfort – from the structural design of the headphones to the choice of materials, every decision was carefully made to ensure the final product meets our highest standard of ergonomics. Once placed on your head, the headphones should become unobtrusive, leaving you with nothing but the music.

With this perspective in mind, we combined walnut wood, zinc, manganese steel and vegan leather into a comfortable, lightweight yet very durable structure. The self-adjusting headband distributes the weight and applies even pressure for every head shape and size.

The black walnut wood we use for our headphones comes exclusively from sources with a certificate of origin, harvested from mature trees that have reached the end of their life cycle. This protects the environment and makes room for new life, while the old trees shine again in the form of Meze headphones.

The 109 PRO is made with the utmost care for sustainability. Because our choices today can have a big impact on the world of tomorrow, we design products that last. We believe that a longer product life means a smaller footprint.

In line with this philosophy, the 109 PRO can be dismantled and serviced endlessly if ever needed, extending the product's life beyond its limit.
