Shunyata Alpha-X Digital AES/EBU

Many digital systems fail to reach their theoretical potential because the connecting cables add small distortions. The Alpha-X digital cables are designed to minimise the jitter created by the cable, and the associated timing and phase errors. The result is an effortless, natural and dynamic presentation that gives digital recordings more depth and detail.

The AES/EBU version is built as a twinaxial cable with OCC copper conductors, a full foil shield and a fluorocarbon dielectric, so the impedance stays accurately at 110 ohm. The cable contains a TAPc module with 19 elements, which passively reduces electromagnetic distortion and makes the background audibly quieter, supplemented by a CMode filter against common-mode noise. The cable also undergoes four days of KPIP v2 conditioning. Like all Shunyata products, this cable is hand-built at the Shunyata Research factory in Poulsbo, Washington (USA), and each cable is individually tested for continuity, polarity and safety.
