Full description
Nothing proves Ortofon's long-lasting resilience more than its dedication to refining analogue sound quality and the continuous development of new cartridge models. Since 1948, Ortofon has brought around 100 different moving coil models to market. We believe the cartridges in this new series are more than worthy successors to the long line of models that has made Ortofon a world leader in the production and supply of phono cartridges.
Quintet Mono uses a bonded output to deliver the same output signal from both sets of terminal pins. This effectively eliminates the need for mono-specific equipment, making it possible to enjoy true mono playback on any stereo playback system
The MC Quintet series matches Ortofon's unrelenting dedication to making the most accurate and precise reproduction possible without colouration.
Ortofon MC Quintet Mono cartridge features
A special thermoplastic material of ABS (acrylonitrile / butadiene / styrene) is used to manufacture the body. This lightweight, impact-resistant material is very suitable for injection moulding and provides a very durable, scratch-resistant surface.
Neodymium magnets have been implemented to achieve optimal output.
Low internal impedance makes the cartridge less sensitive to loading and therefore ensures compatibility with the widest range of preamplifiers and transformers.
Each of the five Quintet Series cartridges has its own individual sonic expression, and together all five models represent the ensemble of five classic variations:
MC Quintet Mono is a true mono cartridge for playing mono microgroove vinyl records
MC Quintet Red is a universal cartridge that delivers an open, dynamic sound with a touch of warmth
MC Quintet Blue adds more dynamics and resolution, sounds more open and reproduces more detail
MC Quintet Bronze adds even more detail and resolution, but in a very balanced way that respects all the elements
MC Quintet Black S is the best of all, true to the groove with resolution and precise insight into every recording
Our aim is to give our customers many hours of new and surprising experiences when listening to their precious vinyl collection.
