Naim NAP 250 power amplifier
The Naim NAP 250 is a power amplifier with 100 W into 8 ohms (0.1% THD+N) and two balanced XLR inputs. A soft-start sequence prevents the large toroidal transformers from tripping the circuit breaker, and optical 3.5 mm communication between Naim products prevents ground loops. Damping factor 36.

Soft-start power-up sequence, preventing the large toroidal transformers from tripping the circuit breakers because of the large inrush current required.
3.5 mm optical communication between products for synchronised
system control, preventing ground loops.
Eddy current separation between the speaker outputs for
better sound quality.
Custom audiophile components such as polystyrene capacitors in filter circuits for low dielectric absorption.
Through-hole components reduce microphony picked up by fluctuations on the circuit board.
Separate DR PSUs for the power amplifier, including the XLR input stage.
Eight NA009 Naim custom-designed power transistors as
developed for Statement (4 for the PSUs and 4 for the
output stages). Each mounted on ceramic insulators
for ultra-low capacitive coupling.
New triple-transistor constant current source (CCS) in the delicate gain stage – uses a newly developed CCS for improved sound quality.
Party-proof: the new heatsink design responds to temperature fluctuations and keeps everything cool.
Automatic shutdown after 20 minutes for older systems; activates when music is detected (automatic shutdown can be disabled).
0.5 W standby power: Use of two internal power supplies; one is an audiophile high-quality linear type, based on a large
toroidal transformer. The other is a highly efficient
SMPSU for 0.5 W power consumption in standby mode
