The Ruark MR1 Mk3 is a compact active speaker set with two 25 W class D amplifiers. Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD lets you stream wirelessly, and the built-in MM phono preamplifier makes it easy to connect a turntable. A computer connects via USB-C, and a TV or other source via the combined analogue and optical input.

The MR1 Mk3 is the third generation of Ruark's compact active speakers. The set is made for the desk, next to the TV or on a sideboard, and replaces a complete small system: the amplification is in the speakers and you connect your sources directly.
Each speaker has a 20 mm silk dome tweeter and an 85 mm NS+ woofer in a cabinet with a double-flared bass reflex port. Two class D amplifiers of 25 W each deliver a firm and detailed sound, with a frequency range of 48 Hz to 22 kHz.
The connection options are generous. Wireless playback is via Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD and AAC. A computer connects via USB-C (up to 24 bit 96 kHz), and your TV or another source via the combined analogue and optical input (up to 24 bit 192 kHz). Particularly useful is the built-in MM phono preamplifier with adjustable sensitivity, so you can connect a turntable directly. If you want more bass, you can connect a subwoofer such as the Ruark RS1 via the subwoofer output.
The MR1 Mk3 is supplied with a remote control and 3 metres of speaker cable. Available in Rich Walnut and Satin Charcoal, both with a fabric grille in Dark Slate.
