Anthem MRX1140 Surround amplifier

The Anthem MRX 1140 AV receiver offers even the most demanding music and film lover everything needed to enjoy media to the full. This high-end Anthem receiver can reproduce 15.2 surround channels, has 11 power amplifiers on board, streams all the world's music via AirPlay 2 and Google Chromecast, among others, and delivers a powerful 140 Watts for the main channels. Anthem MRX 1140 AV receiver: top of the line. The Anthem MRX 1140 is a top-of-the-line AV receiver and the successor to the highly successful MRX 1120. According to the Anthem philosophy, an AV receiver is first and foremost an amplifier, which has to hold its own in surround (film) but also in stereo (music). A substantial toroidal transformer and equally substantial smoothing form the basis for solid and engaging reproduction, in stereo too.

All AVM / MRX components support Apple AirPlay and AirPlay 2, which let the user stream content, plus tracks stored on local networks, to any AirPlay device. AirPlay 2 adds support for multi-device playback, so you can hear your music throughout the house.

MRX Series receiver channels can be assigned in many ways. Unused amplifier channels can be reassigned to bi-amp demanding front loudspeakers, to power surrounds, to presence loudspeakers or to a second zone (available on the MRX 1140 and MRX 740).

Configure amplifier channels for the needs of your system, then perfect the presentation with ARC Genesis.

No fewer than 11 power amplifiers are built in for ultimate Dolby Atmos reproduction. The 5 main amplifier channels deliver no less than 140 Watts / 8 Ohm per channel, and the 6 effects channels a still respectable 60 Watts / 8 Ohm. Also new is the ability to matrix/reassign the amplifiers. Unused channels can be used for a second zone or for bi-amping. Despite the large number of built-in amplifiers, the receiver is still remarkably compact, so it does not take up an extreme amount of space. On the preamplifier side, the MRX-1140 has a completely newly developed 15-channel platform, so there is still room for expansion should the need arise.

Anthem Room Correction / ARC Genesis. Anthem Room Correction (ARC Genesis) ensures perfect calibration of the 15 surround channels, as well as of both subwoofers. Also new on the Anthem MRX 1140 is the unique Anthem online user interface, which lets the end user access all settings and functions and make changes via a smartphone, tablet or PC. In addition to playing all common surround formats, the MRX 1140 is also well equipped for streaming: AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Roon and Bluetooth are all available or will be supported (very soon).
